About MechDatum

MechDatum is a Spanish-language technical reference database for mechanical engineers, technicians, and manufacturing professionals. We bring together material properties, manufacturing process parameters, tolerances, and engineering data in quick-reference pages — the kind of information usually scattered across standards, supplier catalogs, and English-language sources.

Much of the quality technical information for mechanical engineering is primarily available in English, scattered across dozens of sources, or locked behind commercial catalogs. MechDatum aims to centralize that data in Spanish, with the technical rigor an engineer needs to make design, quoting, or manufacturing decisions.

MechDatum is developed by a mechatronics engineer with hands-on experience in mechanical design and industrial manufacturing, including work on tooling, machines, and complete production lines, as well as manufacturing fixtures for major automotive OEMs (such as Ford, VW, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, among many others) and food processing and packaging equipment for the food industry (for brands such as PepsiCo). This experience guides what data gets prioritized and how each technical reference page is structured.

Every MechDatum page is built by cross-referencing information across multiple technical sources (manufacturers, standards, established engineering references), and each data point is verified against at least one additional source before publishing. You can read more detail on our Methodology page.
